Your enrollment journey with us
Getting started with Achievement for Life is designed to be as low-stress as the homeschooling lifestyle itself. We move from curious to enrolled in four simple steps, ensuring clarity and confidence throughout the process.
1. The discovery call: We start with a quick chat to discuss your student’s goals and their current curriculum.
2. The diagnostic: Your student takes a proctored diagnostic test to identify "easy-win" points and determine their best fit test (SAT or ACT).
3. The personalized strategy plan: We meet to review results, showing you exactly which modules they need and which they can skip.
4. Enrollment & Onboarding: Once we agree on the right path, you'll receive a Welcome Kit with the schedule, syllabus, practice material, and essential test-day tools.
Common questions from parents
We understand you might have questions. Here are some of the most common concerns parents have, addressed to help you feel confident in your decision:
1. "Will my student be at a disadvantage without much timed test experience?" We treat test-taking as a physical skill. We start with short, low-pressure drills and gradually build mental stamina for the full exam.
2. "Should my student take the SAT or ACT?" We don't guess. Every student starts with a diagnostic assessment comparing performance in both formats. Generally, strong readers and logicians prefer the SAT, while those who work quickly and excel at data interpretation often shine on the ACT.
3. "Is it too late or too early to start?" While spring of junior year is common, we help families plan based on their student’s math and reading levels and college application deadlines.
4, What if my student is not ready for the test? If the student doesn't feel ready for the assessment, the SAT and the ACT are offer 7 times yearly. Your student can take the test anytime later.
5. "What if my student has test anxiety?" We normalize nerves by teaching specific mindfulness and stress-reduction techniques. We practice and simulate test conditions prior to test day.
